Scaling Microcredentials: Syracuse University's Blueprint

Recipients of this badge attended Scaling Microcredentials: Syracuse University's Blueprint for Success, an Accredible exclusive webinar.

In this webinar, Arthur Thomas and Allison Roth from Syracuse, alongside Accredible's Mark Feola, shared:

  • Strategies for developing microcredential governance

  • Tips for gaining institution-wide collaboration

  • Solutions to common scaling challenges

  • The marketing power of shareable digital badges

In this era where 88% of education leaders view alternative and microcredentialing as essential for their future, Syracuse University stands out with a model that's transforming how we think about student achievement and institutional growth. Over the past three years, Syracuse developed and scaled a comprehensive portfolio of instructor-led, instructor-guided, or self-guided microcredentials that's helped thousands of learners across multiple disciplines enhance their professional skills with digital badges and certificates.

Granted, establishing a microcredentialing program and ensuring new course offerings met learners’ expectations and were delivered in a consistent way took a lot of planning, determination, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The results didn’t happen overnight, but the effort has been worth it.
